SigneDemocracy is an Erasmus+ youth project that aims to empower deaf and hard-of-hearing young people through inclusive, sign-language-first democratic participation and civic engagement. The project will develop co-created educational tools, including a civic curriculum, E-Guide, sign-language glossary, and serious game, while piloting Deaf Youth Parliaments in Greece, Slovakia, and Bulgaria to simulate real democratic processes and strengthen leadership, intercultural dialogue, and active citizenship among deaf youth.
objectives
SigneDemocracy aims to empower deaf and hard-of-hearing youth as active European citizens by:
Increasing democratic awareness and intercultural dialogue
Creating real-life civic simulation spaces through national Deaf Youth Parliaments
Strengthening the visibility and capacity of sign languages in civic and educational life
Promoting co-created, deaf-led, anti-tokenistic participation frameworks, thereby speeding up the process of a common European Demos.
